Spectrum Group is a family-owned agribusiness.
Spectrum Group have origins dating back to the mid-1990’s when five Waikato farming families formed an equity partnership and converted land in Canterbury to dairying; Spectrum Group was formed in 2001 to provide structure to the business which had grown.
As with many equity partnerships, change was necessary over time and a formal restructure in 2015 resulted in the current Limited Partnership structure. The Limited Partnership is owned by the O'Connor, Farrelly and Sterritt families, governed through a formal board structure which includes two independent directors with senior management reporting to the board.
Being a family business with intergenerational aspirations, sustainability is foremost in our minds as we aim to ensure that the business is relevant for future generations. We are committed to best-in-class operations and practices to ensure that we contribute to a positive outcome for our group and the community. We want people to be proud of their association with us and benefit from being part of the Spectrum family.
Our vision is for Spectrum Group to be a premium New Zealand Agribusiness which provides opportunity for all those associated with it. We recognise that this takes on-going commitment by everyone involved. We are pleased with what we have achieved to date and look forward to incorporating new innovations which will help manage future challenges.

" We aim to provide an opportunity for management to experience the autonomy of operating a farm business similar to farm ownership".
Structures have been designed to provide administrative support and accountability and reward to an otherwise risky autonomous management function.
We don’t always get things right but work hard to succeed together with guidance from our board directors and valued consultants.
